Volunteer Opportunities

Transport

We need your help transporting injured and orphaned wildlife! Whether it’s picking up a rescued animal that needs care at our sanctuary, transferring a large raptor out to Pullman, WA for flight testing, or assisting our generous donors with food delivery, there are so many ways that you can use your vehicle to help our animals. Please sign up below and include the town where you live and how far you are willing to drive. If your description fits one of our needs, we will give you a call!

Facility Maintenance

Do you have general maintenance skills or enjoy working with your hands? There are plenty of projects that could use your hard work out at the sanctuary! Thanks to all of the incredible volunteers we had last summer, we are halfway down with our flight barn! Finishing this monumental project will be our main focus this summer. If carpentry isn’t your thing there are plenty of other ways that you can help make our facility better! Depending on the season, you can help us clean up the property, repaint buildings, fix enclosures, shovel snow, or improve our current infrastructure! If you don’t have the time to do the work yourself, we also appreciate people that allow us to borrow their tools and heavy machinery. Sign up below and let us know what time of the week you’re available and how you would like to help!

Animal Care

If you are interested in learning more about animal husbandry and wildlife rehabilitation, we have the perfect opportunity for you! We are bringing on new animal care volunteers this summer and hiring full-time interns each season. Animal care volunteers must be able to commit to a consistent schedule (once a week or every other week) for at least three months. This is a fantastic way to gain experience caring for the diverse array of species that live in our backyard! Please sign up below and include the day(s) of the week and the timeframe you are available to help care for our injured and orphaned wildlife!

Outreach & Fundraising

Do you also enjoy working with people? We can use some help at our special events! Want to lend a hand during our outreach events? We are looking for dedicated volunteers to help Snowdon during our Beers for Bears, Educational Presentations, and Open House events. Duties may include: set up, providing directions, accepting donations, handing out information, clean up, and more!
